9-18-10 Fritz's Smoked Meats

It seems like every food adventure we go on costs more and more so we were happy when the bill at Fritz's came in at under $12 for the two of us.

This place has been around at 103rd and State Line for a long time. Why we never went here when we lived in the area is a mystery - had we known, we probably would have taken advantage of the daily specials often (11-3pm Mon-Sat).

They have all kinds of meats and serve delicious sandwiches, BBQ beef, and grilled items like hot dogs and sausages.

I ordered a grilled italian sausage, an order of fries and their special of the day, a pint of smoked ends.

The italian sausage was good and relatively cheap, but the special of the day stole the show. For $3, I got a pint of the ends of all the different sausages they smoke there. There were spicy sausage ends, italian sausage and all kinds of others that I didn't recognize in BBQ sauce and it was filling. It was so filling in fact, that we took the rest of home and made sandwiches out of it the next day. For just $3, the pint of ends was a good deal. 

JE ordered a polish sausage and shared the fries. 

The meats on the sausages were really good and a testament to why this place is still open after all these years. The counter staff is friendly, you can buy a EAT MY MEAT t-shirt there, and they really know what they're doing. 

This may be one of the best lunch values in South KC. They've been in business for a long time and they do it right. Check out Fritz's for some good meat.
