7-9-11 Avelluto's Italian Delights

After driving in circles and back tracking (as well as arguing with GPS), we finally found our destination. The aroma of goodness hits you when you open the door.

The menu is on the wall behind the counter and tempting food is showcased right up in your face. Almost everything is under $10 except maybe the large pizzas.

They have just about any kind of Italian food you would want to eat.

When you walk in, you order, pay, get your self serve drinks and your food is promptly delivered.

JE ordered a full order of spaghetti and meatballs and a prosciutto ball.

I ordered a full order of spaghetti and sausage, also with a prosciutto ball. They also give you a basket of Italian bread and butter delivered to your table as well.

**due to issues with the camera, the photos did not come out**

The food was outstanding. The spaghetti was cooked just right and the meatballs and sausage were delicious. The prosciutto ball was like something JE makes at home with ham, cream cheese and crescent rolls and it didn't disappoint either.

JE said, "this is a place where divorced dads take their children on their every-other weekend." as evidenced by the tables full of a man and some children.

A place like this should open in Brookside or in the recently closed Carly Sue's location in Waldo. If it were there, we would be there often.

Avelluto's Italian Delights is located on 6522 Martway Street in Shawnee Mission, KS.
