Thai Place in Westport -- beautiful room.
Jon, John Eric, Aaron and Mia.
Sat down to lunch, just after noon.
Form a circle and sing kumbaya
Forget about the parking lot, so bleak and dire
Get your spring rolls, soup and food
And scream four hours later -- ring of fire!
As the poem suggests, we met up with Mia and Aaron at Thai Place in Westport.
JE had a beautifully presented chicken curry that had some amazing flavors.
I ordered the chicken pad thai which was also very good. I didn't leave any of it for the angels.
And either Mia or Aaron had King & Ann Chicken. It's a dish of sliced chicken breast marinated in garlic and rum, sauteed with shiitake mushrooms and scallions in a ginger garlic sauce.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Each came with a few crab rangoon. The flavors were really good and the amount of kick was just right. It's typical of any Thai restaurant but there do not seem to be too many of them around town -- at least in our neck of the neighborhood.
Service is excellent and attentive without being smothering. If you don't mind some of your food to be spicy, you should check it out. They can keep the spiciness at bay if you ask.
If you're in the mood for Thai, go to Thai Place in Westport at 4130 Pennsylvania Ave. Kansas City, MO 64111.
